Sumo Squats are one of the best ways to work on building your hamstrings, glutes, core, and inner thighs. The movement of a sumo squat is different than a regular squat because the stance is wider and your toes are pointed out to emphasize pushing through your heels to target your hamstrings and glutes. You can perform a sumo squat with dumbbells, a kettle bell or a barbell to work on building your leg and core strength.
The great thing about a sumo squat is that the weight is in front of you which will naturally pull your chest and upper body forward so the goal is to keep your back, core, and upper body strong so that you keep an upright position while performing each repetition. You end of with a compound total body exercise all in one move!
